In 2023, everything changed for Zvilnik as our long-time singer and frontwoman Ang departed the band. We considered looking for a new singer, but in the meantime we experimented with doing the vocal duties ourselves, and discovered that being a three-piece really worked for us. SO, we got to work and soon did our first shows in this format.

Anyway, long story short - if we want to get more gigs, we need a recording that reflects what the band is NOW, and that means doing some new versions of older Zvilnik songs, and THAT's what the Zvilnik Redux Sessions are about. On this one, we have:

1. Gullible Travels - first appeared on the Gullible Travels EP, with the original Zvilnik lineup, and has been a mainstay of our set ever since. I've seen some conspiracy nutjobs believe that this song is on their side, but those idiots will believe, well, anything.

2. Nikola Tesla - one of the earliest Zvilnik songs, written when we were still on bass player number one, and still going strong! It's a love letter to everyone's favourite Serbian runner-up in the scientific frontier. We all know he was way cooler than Edison though.

3. The Misery Fandango - from The Betrayed and The Traitor, our most recent album, and one we really love playing. It's a celebration of failure in a world where the game was rigged from the start, an all-inclusive message for everyone who's stuck in a basement and wondering what the hell went wrong. The guitar melody is designed to evoke the theme from Tetris - which could be the ultimate exercise in doomed futility. But don't go thinking this will be a miserable song, it's a call-to-arms to embrace the joke that we're all the punchline to.
